Invisalign for Kids in Studio City
What Is Invisalign® First?Invisalign First was created for young children between the ages of six and ten years old, who have a mixture of baby and adult teeth. Also known as Phase 1 treatment, this advanced system uses clear aligners to fix orthodontic issues before they progress into more complex challenges later in adolescence. At Studio City Orthodontist, we want to help your child obtain a more confident smile comfortably. Forget about old poky and bulky equipment such as head gears, expanders, or tongue cribs, Invisalign First can address common alignment issues like overcrowding, protruding teeth, arch development, overbites, and underbites. Phase 1 will also help reduce the amount of treatment time for Phase 2, making it easier for your child’s permanent teeth to come into the correct position. If you are curious about how Invisalign can help your child, call our team today at (818) 518-9763 or fill out our online contact form. We offer child Invisalign treatments in Studio City and throughout Hollywood, Sherman Oaks, and the surrounding areas.
Is Invisalign Right for My Child?
Because Invisalign is clear, removable, and more comfortable than traditional braces, while being just as effective, it is easy to see why more and more people are choosing them. However, before choosing Invisalign for your child, it is important to talk to them about the responsibility involved in this treatment.
Two things to consider are:
- The aligners are removable: Because your child is able to remove their aligners to eat and drink, there can be a danger of misplacing them. Putting together a strategy or routine for your child to keep track of their aligners is a great way to ensure they aren’t forgotten.
- Care for the aligners: In addition to staying on top of healthy oral habits, your child’s Invisalign trays need to be cleaned regularly.
If your child loses a tray, never fear. At Studio City Orthodontist, we know that accidents happen and are here to help. Contact our office as soon as possible and we will walk you through your options. With wear time being one of the most prominent factors for success, it is also important to reiterate to your child about keeping their aligners in when not eating. Typically, we recommend having aligners in for at least 22 hours a day.
Not all children require Phase 1 treatment, which is why it is important to schedule a complementary consultation with Dr. Shafagh at the recommended age of six years old. Our skilled and experienced orthodontist will assess your child’s orthodontic needs and help you determine if early treatment is necessary for your child.
